 Kiryu city
The biggest allure of Kiryu City, where the textile industry has thrived
since ancient times,
is the balance between its historical heritage and the beautiful nature
 
kiryuori
Kiryuori, the form of Kiryu textile, has a history
of 1300 years. It is the best silk fabric in Japan, and has been designated
as a Tradi-tional Craft of Japan.
Kiryu Yagibushi Festival
The city bustles with the excitement of Kiryu Gion
Festival and Yagibushi Odori,
a traditional dance.
 
Ebisuko Festival
This festival is held annually at Nishinomiya-Jinja
Shrine. It gets srowded with people who come to for
a prosperous business. On the first night of the festival, the festivities go
on all night.
Gourmet of Kiryu
Sauce
Katsudon
A dish originated in Kiryu. In addition, Kiryu has become famous for its
sauce katsudon, a savory pork and rice dish. Tasty
pork dishes as Sauce Katsudon are a local
specialty.
 
Himokawa
Udon
Gunma is also a producing center in an eminent wheat field, and the history
is old. The thickness of the Udon drops by a store, and there even is more
than 10 centimeters of something from 1.5 centimeters. It's wide, that the
thickness is light at about 1 millimeter, the feature.
Yaki-manju
One of local food from Gunma prefecture "Yaki-manju".
The one which applied bittersweet fermented soybean paste sagging
a soft white manju much is orthodox.
